Brother John C. Williams at the age of 19 returned to the U. S. A. with his parents and older brother Robert F. Jr. They had lived in forced exile outside of the U. S. for 8 years. For 3 of these years, John lived and attended school in Cuba and did the same in the People’s Republic of China for 5 years. In 1969 upon returning to the States, John furthered his formal education at Michigan State University where he received a B. A. Degree in Chinese Studies; he continued his educational pursuits at Indiana University, School of Law at Indianapolis from which he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree.
At the tender age of 8 & 10 John and Robert, Jr. were actively involved in the struggle for civil and human rights lead by their parents ( Mabel R. and Robert F. Sr.) in their home town of Monroe N.C. The family tradition of loving and caring for their community has been a life long honored tradition by Minister, John C. Williams who has been a resident of Detroit for 30 years, 29 of which have been committed to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who desire God’s mercy. During this period John has also worked with Detroit and other regional Public Schools, Life Directions, Inc., Joy of Jesus Ministries, Inc., People’s Community Services, Inc., Focus Hope, Inc. and a host of other youth and human development entities striving to make our world a better place for all. Since 2003 he has served as Pastor of Cass Park Baptist Church located in the Cass Corridor of Detroit.
